We’re heading to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida for a hands-on volunteer day, and we need a crew of big-hearted Castaways to join us.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank serves hundreds of thousands of neighbors across Southwest Florida, distributing millions of pounds of food each year. Right now, the need is greater than ever—families, seniors, and children are relying on support just to get by.
What we’ll be doing:
Sorting, packing, and preparing food for distribution—hands-on, meaningful work that directly helps our community.
Volunteer requirements:
- Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip-flops)
- Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting a little “workday” wear on
- Be ready to stand, move, and pitch in as part of a team
- Bring your Castaways spirit and a willingness to help

To ensure a timely start, please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
Location: Harry Chapin Food Bank – Fort Myers Distribution Center

Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
Registration – Action Required (20 Volunteer Slots Reserved)
All volunteers must register individually prior to the event.
(If you have volunteered with them before, no additional registration is required.)

Participants should submit confirmation of registration directly to their group organizer. Once registered and confirmed, no further action is needed.
After confirmations are received, please send your final list of attendees to the HCFB Volunteer Scheduling Coordinator verifying everyone who has completed registration:

Important Guidelines
To ensure a smooth and productive experience, please review the following:
Attire:
Fully closed shoes are required. No Crocs, sandals, or flip-flops.
Wear clean, modest attire (shorts must reach fingertip length; no tank tops or bare midriffs).
What Not to Bring:
No cell phones, earbuds, headphones, jewelry, or valuables during the shift. Please store them in your vehicle.
Behavior & Safety:
No smoking, eating, or beverages allowed in the warehouse.
Age Requirement:
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old (with an adult) and in high school.
Reading Assistance:
Some tasks may require reading. If you need glasses, please bring them.
