PGIslanders Boat Poker Run
Saturday, February 28, 2026, 2:00 p.m.
On February 28, the PGIslanders will hold a Boat Poker Run. This is not a race, and all sizes of boats are welcome. Use a boat to visit five pre-determined locations in Punta Gorda and pick up an envelope containing a playing card at each stop.
PGIslanders and their guests are welcome, and you can have multiple participants on a boat. Each person that pays the $5 entry fee gets an envelope at each dock. (Payment will be done in person, not through ClubExpress).
If you don’t have a boat, or are unable to use your boat, you’re welcome to ride with other participants. If you’re using your boat and are willing to take passengers, please let us know and how many you can take. If you would like a ride, let us know that, too. The more on the boat, the merrier.
Members handing out cards are also eligible to collect a hand if they pay the $5 entry fee. Those not wishing to travel by boat can still collect a hand by registering and paying the entry fee.
***BONUS There may be opportunities to improve your hand with extra cards throughout dinner (e.g. by bringing an entry in the chili cookoff; answering nautical, poker or chili questions correctly…)
Details will be sent to participants, including location of docks where you will collect the playing cards. Visiting docks begins at 2:00 pm on February 28 followed by a Chili Cookoff Dinner at 5:30 PM at TBA location. Other suggested food contributions to this event include corn bread, shredded cheese, sour cream, rice, dessert. Bring your cards, play them right and see how good a poker hand you have. The best hand wins! (Do not open your envelopes until instructed after dinner.)
You can sign up through ClubExpress (need to log in) to participate, hand out cards at locations and/or volunteer to help. If you have questions contact Maureen Hebert or Mark Snyder.
