Please join us for our October General Meeting to be held on October 21st at the PGICA Center beginning at 5:30. At this time we are working on a Guest Speaker and will let you know when we have a commitment.  In the meantime our dinner theme will be foods that you would find in an Oktoberfest.  Oktoberfest is the largest folk and beer festival in the world, and originated in the Bavarian City of Munich, Germany and is celebrated across the globe.  In Germany their Oktoberfest begins September 16th through October 3rd, it used to start the first of October and run through October but due to cold weather they start it toward the end of September when the weather is a bit warmer.  We would like to ask our members to prepare a dish, an appetizer or dessert.  Some great food ideas to bring are, Bratwurst, Kartoffelpuffer (Potato Pancakes), Deutsche Kuchel (German Mash Potatoes) Schweinshave (Pork Shank), Cabbage Rolls, Black Forest Cake and Lebkuchen Strudel (a german cookie made with honey and various nuts).  The Club will be providing the infamous   Bretzeln (Pretzels), with Beer Cheese.   As usual this is a BYOB event.  Please sign up on our Web Page and if your plans change please let us know.  Thank you.

We would also like to remind you to sign up for our Thanksgiving Dinner on November 18th, and our Christmas Party on December 12th.  Both of these events must be paid for by check or cash. You will have the opportunity to pay at the September, October & November General Meetings or you can mail a check to Susan Olds, 1362 Pine Siskin Drive, Punta Gorda, Fl.  33950.
