Punta Gorda Isles Marine Watch

Punta Gorda Isles Marine WatchA Different Kind of Volunteer Group City of Punta Gorda Police Dept.

Since its inception in 2009, The Punta Gorda Isles Marine Watch program has volunteer residents participating in on-the-water and land surveillance patrols.

  1. Patrols are for a minimum of 2 hours, once each month.
  2. Patrol times will mostly be night patrol and/or early morning.
  3. Upon approval of your application, each volunteer member will be given an ID card and a map that identifies adjacent streets to each canal.
  4. Each boat on patrol will be provided signage that identifies it as a “Marine Watch Patrol” boat.
  5. In most cases each member will be on patrol only once a month.
  6. Marine Watch volunteers will use their own boats for these patrols.
  7. Assigned patrol areas will coincide with the location of each member’s home dock.

If you are interested in volunteering your time and boat for a couple hours each month to this worthwhile program, contact Nora and Joseph Giardina - Neighborhood Marine Watch program coordinators, Cell: 941-347-8739, Email: pgimarinewatch@gmail.com
